With Mad Men and GoT last night, I am just too emotionally drained -___-
Last night’s Mad Men is all about control. What is your definition of control? I’d like to think control is a comfortable position where you can call all the shots. These women have learned how to exist in a male dominated world, but this week they’ve finally realized, no matter how much they think they are respected among these men, they don’t see them as their equals or peers, they still see them as women. Poor Joanie. The father of her child, and these men she’s loyally worked for over a decade, sold her into sex without blinking an eye. But when you’re getting a divorce, and your future is unstable, how far would you go for a secure future for yourself and child? Don’t judge her. My heart absolutely broke for her. But I can’t help but remember Salvatore and Lucky Strike. Will his Jaguar guy be back to haunt Joan? Something to consider! I had a love/hate relationship with Don this week. He is the only one who stands up for Joan, which is completely admirable. But then he throws money in Peggy’s face. Wtf? It doesn’t stop there though. He tells basically tells Joan not to put a price on herself, or her worth, but when Peggy tells him she’s leaving, instead of letting her know how valued and wonderful she is, he talks salary raises. He tries to control her and put a price on her. A total contradiction. Don is never one for words, so he kisses her hand. He realizes that he’s working with a bunch of asshole sexist pigs, and he’s one of them, and I would like to think that he’s proud that Peggy is able to see that and move on to better things. “You would do the same if you were me.” Yes, he would Peggy! Everyone seems to be overlooking Megan’s audition. They ask her to give them a twirl and she comes back withdrawn and sad. What happened there? Did they ask her to do something for the part? Did she? And how cute was Ken Cosgrove? Anyways, this episode was the most emotional I’ve seen this season. SOOOO MANY FEELINGS!
